Scary subject and definitely important. We all should try and do our bit to keep our mother earth cool.

Welcome, we are going to talk about global warming today. Well to simply put, Global Warming is the rising average temperature of mother earth and the future doesn't look bright if it continues. There is a lot of work happening across the globe to find out the reasons behind and how we can prevent it.

A few years ago, a study conducted by scientists implied that Transporation and Non-Veg food consumption were two major reasons for Global Warming.

How eating meat can be one of the main reason?

Well, after researching it further, I found the truth which was kind of shocking and an eye-opener for me as well. Cow, Buffalo, Chicken, Goat, Pig, and other animals are either available locally or imported. The meat is preserved and imported meat travels either a short or long distance to reach its consumer. Carbon emissions from Refrigerators, cooling systems, and transportation vehicles adds up to the cause of global warming. Another major contributor is the plastic or paper which is used for packaging. We all know the impact of plastic on nature but the need for paper results in cutting the trees. So now you understand how all of this is intertwined and statistics say approx 25% of global warming is due to non-veg consumption.

Since we have touched the topic of the adverse side of non-veg consumption, it would be incomplete without discussing the condition of "Poultry". Big companies managing poultry businesses forcefully feed their birds and animals 'wheat', 'jowari', 'bajari', or 'corn' as you know they either grass or insects. Animals or birds become fat and gain weight. Also, the antibiotics given to them results in hormonal changes. More weight derives more money. Trust me even in the 21st century, a lot of people in the developing countries are deprived of food.

You can watch a detailed documentary on Netflix - "What the Health"

We too can contribute to reducing global warming by not having non-vegetarian food by at least 10% if not fully. Also by avoiding plastic and switching to electric cars.

Let us do our bit and contribute to the greater good!
